Hundreds of RCI's 'dubious voters' registered in Klang
Up
to 571 of those who allegedly received identity cards through suspicious
means in Sabah, are now registered as voters in the Klang parliamentary
constituency, DAP's incumbent Klang MP Charles Santiago claimed today.
Charles (left) said that the 571 voters were cross-checked based on a list of over 60,000 individuals that the royal commission of inquiry (RCI) on illegal immigrants in Sabah, believed attained their ICs through questionable means.
"Out of that number, 2,000 of them are registered in Selangor, with Klang having the highest of them all with 571 such voters, followed by Kota Raja with 352," he told Malaysiakini when contacted.
Charles also expressed his concern that the numbers were those that were obtained by the Sabah RCI alone, and does not take into account other potential ‘dubious voters’ across the country.
"These names are just from the Sabah RCI and not other parts of Malaysia," he said.
Charles added that he would file a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) over these names.
He will then deploy his polling agents to monitor anyone who turns up to vote on behalf of those listed as ‘dubious’ or ‘questionable’ voters by the RCI.
"The question is, who will turn up on Sunday to vote for them?" he asked.
