Ansari and allies remain in PKR for now
Tuaran
PKR chief Ansari Abdullah is still with PKR, despite not being named as
the party's Tuaran parliamentary candidate in the polls.
This also applies to about 12 Sabah PKR division leaders sidelined as candidates, who met in Kota Kinabalu this afternoon.
"We are still hanging on, but I would say that most will not be able to stay on much longer.
"Even I myself may not be able to stay on as I really feel that I have cheated myself by believing in the party's so-called agenda," Kota Belud PKR chief Saidil Simoi said when contacted.
According to Saidil, Ansari when stopped by reporters after the group met "for tea", said that he has not jumped ship as heavily speculated.
"When asked, he said that he is a party division leader and a supreme council member.
"He said that he will need to follow the majority views," he said.
Ansari could not be reached for comment. Dissatisfaction with PKR central leadership
Ansari, who had contested in Tuaran in 2004 and 2008, was sidelined for new Pakatan Rakyat ally APS president Wilfred , who will stand on PKR's ticket.
The former had earlier pre-empted the central leadership in announcing six MP candidates for PKR in the west coast region of Sabah.
Only two made it to the final PKR list - Jonathan Yasin for the Ranau parliamentary seat and Anthony Mandiau for the state seat of Tandek.
Saidil also denied that the gathering was an official meeting, rather it was a meet up among friends to decide their political future.
"Most are dissatisfied as decisions were made without the knowledge of the grassroots, despite promises by the central leadership to allow decisions to come from the grassroots," he said.
Earlier, at the Star manifesto launch, Sabah PKR Youth Chief Jafery Jamion (right) declared that he has joined Star.
"I gave my verbal resignation to my division chief today and will tender an official resignation," said Jafery who is also Kota Kinabalu PKR Youth chief.
Jafery, who joined PKR 10 years ago, said that he quit following disillusionment with the way PKR had treated smaller parties in Sabah.
He chose to join Star due to family ties with senior leaders there.
