Eyewitnesses in one of the hottest parliamentary seats in the country Lembah Pantai, complained of BN dishing out cash in return for votes.

This took place at Sekolah Rendah Agama Seri Pantai and also SK Bangsar, at about 12.30pm, according to incumbent PKR candidate Nurul Izzah Anwar's aide Fahmi Fadzil.

Fahmi said he was informed that 20 to 30 people flocked to the BN tents in the two places and seen collecting vouchers.

"Checks revealed that these vouchers are issued by the "Outstation voters department" and can be redeemed for cash of between RM50 to RM200 at Flat Seri Pantai.

"This is a massive attempt to pay the people to vote for a particular party," he said.

"I got this tip-off from a concerned voter who sent an image through his handphone," said Fahmi.

Fahmi added that Bersih co-chairperson Ambiga Sreenevasan has also been informed about the matter, and will send volunteers from the non-governmental organisation to look into it.

He added that PKR would also dispatch its volunteers to closely monitor the situation.

Fahmi also said another concerned voter had alerted PKR of six suspicious people from Myanmar, attempting to cast votes in SMK Seri Pantai,

"They were supposedly being ferried in a van and dropped at the polling centre to vote," he said, adding that pressure from the six , it is believed stopped them from casting their ballots.

Lembah Pantai sees the PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah defending her seat against caretaker Federal Territories and Well-Being Minister Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin and Independent Rusli Baba.
